Default Lower control arm bushings how much?

I have a 1990 mustang 5.0 and would like to swap out the front Lower control arm bushings for some polys. I'm tryin to get an idea of how much and where to take it to. I would try this my self but I think you have to compress the springs. Thanks

Mustang front suspension should be MacStrut. You should be able to unbolt the lower control arm and completely remove it without worrying about the spring.

But, even if you needed to compress the spring, that's not a show stopper. This is not a job you can't do yourself.

I have the spring compressers if they are needed.
Some designs don't need them. I have a hydraulic press. Some bushings have to be pressed out and pressed in.

The best suspension kit I have seen is made by Suspension Techniques.
I can show you the design when I see you at the meets I attend.

Next is Performance Suspension Technologies. Sometimes you can get a deal over the internet as a recent customer of mine did when a company was closing their doors.

When you get the parts get back to me.-Bob

If it turns out that when doing it yourself, you get bogged down and need help, get back with me.

While Loren is right in almost all cases the Fox bodies have divorced Mac-Struts.

they can still be done without compressors, but you have to be very careful. actually the spring compressor for this application is a center post model, and unless the person is familiar with domestics they will not have the correct model. it can be done on a lift with a couple pole Jacks, or the special compressor. This is why we listen to people with experience. if you need help or want to do it here on the lift call me.

813-333-1100

This job is much easier on a lift.

Well, I'll be damned.

I guess Ford had a better idea.

You're really going to piss off your competition if you make that car any faster, you know?

your still welcome to use the shop/tools, I charge a very reasonable rate for those doing their own work. and you can store the car inside at night.
