senior honda and loren said it best.
doing a hack job leads to poor results. Do it right and you can have cut springs with no problem. Something to consider, your shocks need to be in good shape too. But that is true with aftermarket springs as well...

You know they make drop spindles for the S10 right?
That way you keep the ride and the alignment and also have it lowered.

you do know you don't need to use springs AND spindles. as the spindles do much of the lowering by themselves. I cut the springs on the Danger ranger.. it has the twin I beam suspension and it sucks... but YMMV.

If you want to go cheap just get some of those springload adjusters and make them so they clamp the spring instead of extending it. Ive cut springs only to go buy new ones a week later because it rode like trash.

I stand by what I said in a previous post...
"I carefully measure before cutting the springs........and that's where most people mess up.......they don't properly measure or properly understand
the suspension, and when they mess up, they don't blame their lack of ability, they blame the cut spring....."

I don't know anyone who ever successfuly clamped springs, either.
I don't know anyone currently riding on clamped springs.

My car has been seen with cut springs by hundreds of people at meets.

I have no beaten up suspension, I have no blown shocks, I have no eaten tires. You can check my shop forum for the why/how/suspension
articles. -Bob

If a spring is too short, it doesn't matter if you spent money for it or made it too short by yourself. Too-short springs destroy cars.
