Im not sure if any of you guys/gals have seen my post in the Honda forum but I could use some feedback on a coil-over kit for the Fuckus.

The H&R comes highly recommended by most of the other Foci drivers who have it installed on their cars. My only problem is it looks more like an over priced Ground Control kit with shocks/struts. This does carry a lifetime warranty on all parts. Price tag: $1200 and not available for 2-3 weeks.

Apex is the other brand I am considering. It is more of a race setup and has adjustable shock valving. My only complaint is the lifetime warranty on the springs but a 2-year warranty on the shocks. I currently have Apex springs which I am pretty satisfied with. Price tag: $1300 and can be bought locally (no shipping possibly no tax)

I also have Eibach front and rear sway-bars coming to me to go with whatever coil-over kit I end up purchasing.

I havent talked to or even heard of any Focus owners using the Apex kit over in the US. KW also has a kit out but it seems a bit overpriced for me.

Whats the purpose for the upgrade going to be? Autocrossing or just for ride quality/looks?
If youre looking to get a good autocrossing setup Id suggest you look into whether or not H&R/Apex offer custom spring rates.

Another thing youll want to find out is what type of adjustability do the shocks have? Rebound? Compression? Neither?

I still say save your pennies and get a custom made set by TrueChoice. You can pick up a stage three set for just a little over 1400 or so. Maybe even less than that. Rebuilt Koni shock with dual adjustability shortened rod custom springs blah blah blah...

Im actually looking for an everyday driving suspension that has the ability to hit the corners on the weekend. I want to get into doing some autocrossing eventually. I believe this is what the Apex and H&Rs mainly go for.

Ill check into your suggestion tonight though.

Just as I thought True Choice doesnt have an application for the Focus. It does look like rather awesome suspension especially for the price.

Hmmm thats odd. I thought Koni makes a shock replacement for the focus. If they do then true choice will have a set since they basically just rebuild off of the Koni platform.

Oh and as for the H&R coilovers a while ago I was going to go the same route but I ran into a problem...lack of supply. Seems they were back ordered all to hell due to such a demand for them. By the time I could actaully find a set my money had dwindled down. You might want to check on the current status of supply.

Damn Bill youre right on the money. H&Rs are back-ordered 2-3 weeks.

I too think its odd that TrueChoice doesnt have a kit. But the Koni adjustables for the Foci only came onto the market 2-3 months ago and Im sure they are still doing some R&D before placing them up for sale.

Im going over to PurelyPony today to check on the Apex availability. I think these may be the ones I go with if I can get a deal going.
