A DUMB DAY
i get to the marina to put the boat into the water.
its already there(in the water). i crank up the trusty md2 volvo diesel. no water coming out of the exhaust??? i then proceed to go over to every thru hull that i replaced to make sure that they are all not leaking. All checks out ok and i jump onto the engine cooling problem(no water in the exhaust). After a shitty made in mexico crap bronze fitting snaps off(leaving me a useless 250 dollar water pump). i realised that i forgot to check my new insturment thru hull trandsdusors. Well the two new ones i installed were fine but the one that was glassed and faired into the hull was leaking. At this point i was ready to kill someone. the one thru hull that i didnt replace decides to leak. so back out of the water she comes put back on stands and a lovely extra charge of 275$$ to me. I drilled out the water pump and saved it. i then spent the next 3 hours removing the trans. resealing it refairing it. ect ect ect. im still working on the cooling problem but the water pump is fine. the hoses are all good the impellers are new. I have determined that the problem area lies betwen the salt water strainer and the water pump.Im getting new pipes tomorrow.
