1988 Mazda RX7 Convertible 5sp, A/C, newer motor, runs GREAT (GA)
I have an '88 S4 vert with a 13b non turbo motor. The original motor blew in 2003 and was replaced by Mazda that same year. I have the documentation on the diagnosis of a blown motor but I misplaced the paperwork I was given on the actual motor swap/labor. The car runs great, never have any problems with it. The roof has some holes like most verts, but I keep a roll of black duct tape around and a tarp just in case it starts to rain too hard. The A/C does blow cold! The interior seems to be in good shape, some staining on the carpet, but the dash is not cracked. It has seats from a '79 RX7, so it does not have the headrest speakers anymore. No check engine lights are on. The trans shifts smooth, though the clutch probably needs to be bled, I will take care of that prior to sale. The tires are 75-85% with the original BBS wheels and Mazda center caps still in tact and in good shape. The clearcoat on the hood is peeling and I think it is starting on the trunk as well. No rust, no major dings. The car is 100% stock aside from the JVC CD player and '79 seats. I'm not sure if that wing was stock, but I like its looks, so I leave it on, haha.
155k on body, less than 50k on motor, all electrics work flawlessly. Located in South Georgia (Valdosta area)
I'm asking $2400 for this car and I feel it is worth it for a fine condition convertible. I don't see too many of these around anymore. I will certainly entertain serious offers, but no lowballing please.
Tom
