Less than three years ago, with about 100,000 miles on the car, the original engine was replaced with a Mazda rebuilt engine. The work was done by a very reputable RX7 mechanic in Long Island, NY. Unfortunately after about 25,000 miles the motor started to run poorly and has been parked for over 6 months. The car will start and run but smokes badly and is down on power. Everything else is mechanically sound. The headlights go up and down with no problem and the sunroof will open and close just like new. This car could be on the road for very little invested. Car comes with a CLEAN NY State title.

Overall, it's in pretty nice condition for its age. Besides the engine problem, the only other problems worth noting are:
1. There are a few dents in the driver and passenger doors and passenger rear fender.
2. The rear tires have slow leaks in them that I was told are leaks around the bead of the wheel and they simply need to be remounted in order to hold air again. The tires will hold air for several days without any trouble but eventually will leak down.

Car is currently on eBay with NO RESERVE and I plan on letting it run it's course there!

its not worth more than $4000. Its a rotary, and it needs to be rebuilt. GL

 

the shell itself can be worth up to 6k

 

I want to get at least $6,000 for it. It will run and it could be driven but it smokes heavily. I have been told that it is the injectors that are clogged and not pulsing like they should. The smoke smells strongly of fuel so this makes sense to me but replacing the injectors isn't something I'm up to so off it goes.
