9000 is well worth it, and he is not out of his mind...its a top of the line loaded model with dick for miles...not even 10K a year on it. considering the seller wants to do a major waxing job to it before posting up pics tells me the seller takes care of his shit...

doesnt matter how fucking clean, or how many times he waxes it, you can, for that price, go get an 01 with the same miles. and unless he is a dealer, dont quote KBB retail ( which is just a starting price to negotiate, cuz no one in their right mind would pay 10k for a fucking 98 explorer). he is private party which at best is 8k in excellent condition, which is still over priced. If the leather is worn, as he stated, it is NOT in excellent condition. GFL with that sale.

 

notice i put private party pricing as well, and also the seller has OBO next to the price...and he stated that the leather has slight wear...typical for any vehicle regardless of age. my last car that had leather was 11 years old, and the wear was average and still looked very respectable (with the exception of the rip). i wouldnt pay 9K for it, id offer 7500-8000, this one is also a 4X4, loaded, with eddie bauer package, the V8 (V8's were not as common) new brakes and new rack-pinion. eb's were a special package. the price asking with negotiating (as the seller is willing) is respectable.
you are correct about an 01...but it will come with 4X2, cloth (maybe leather), regular production model with a v6 will sell in the area of 9-10g's.
