Default FS/FT: GORGEOUS 93 Celica *PICS/DETAILS*

For sale is my 1993 Celica ST with ~208k miles on the chassis. Although it is at the top of the common mileage range for this vehicle, almost everything has been replaced or upgraded during the course of my ownership. It is my belief that this car is worth every penny of the asking price, but I am open for negotiation. I have babied this car since late October of 2002 and it has completely transformed from what it used to be. Whoever gets this car can be assured that they are receiving a top-notch Celica. I have several people to vouch for it, just ask over at Celicatech.com. The ONLY reason I am selling it is because it simply is not fast enough for me. I'd like to have a turbo car and am in the market for a 98/99 Eclipse GS-T. This car can be made fast but I just can't justify it after I've put so much money into it already to get it to where it is.

The mod list is viewable at http://hosted.docman.cc/Mike431635/mods.htm

I also have an interior color change job 75% completed (changing from blue to black with candy blue accents as you can see in the pics). The dashboard has been dyed black along with the door panels. The center console and several other pieces have also been painted black. Many of the accent pieces, including the gauge bezel, have been painted candy blue. All this was
done with the pieces out of the vehicle, and took me two weeks to complete working a few hours after work every day and half the day on Saturdays & Sundays. The prep work was done RIGHT- sanding, primer, wetsand (x3), many coats of color, and many coats of clear with a wetsand. I can tell anyone who is interested what would need to be done to complete the interior job (although it is already very nice and I am happy driving it as it is).

The engine was also complete stripped down and rebuilt around 8k miles ago (with 199k on the odometer). The rebuild included having the block hot-tanked & painted, bored .030 over & honed, the head was completely disassembled and had a couple valves replaced, had all the carbon cleaned out. We replaced the crankshaft with a brand new one, replaced the main & rod bearings, put in new pistons from Sealed Power along with new piston rings to fill the bore, replaced the oil pump & water pump, ALL belts, ALL seals and gaskets, and completely flushed all the fluids and refilled them. The PS pump was also rebuilt but did not last, so it has been replaced recently with a brand new one, along with brand new pressure & return lines. While the engine was out, the tie rod end on the driver's side was replaced along with both steering rack boots.

You can view pics of the rebuild here: http://www.celicatech.com/forums/sho...hlight=rebuild

The car also has new paint in the flavor of Porsche's Black Pearl Metallic. My dad & I did all of the prep work ourselves and Maaco sprayed it. Yes, Maaco. They did an excellent job with the paint work and it has held up perfectly for a year with no problems whatsoever. Their only weak spot is their prep work, which is why I did it myself. I can provide pics of the prep work if they are wanted.

I'm including several pics below but the rest of the car, which will impress anyone who looks at them. I could talk all day about everything that has been done to this car, but it would make this post WAY too long. Anyone who has questions can contact me directly and I can answer any question you might have. After the pictures I have the price & some ideas for the new owner if he/she decides to make a real quick car out of it.

UPDATED PICS TO COME TOMORROW 9/5/05, INCLUDING INTERIOR PICS!

The rest of the pics are viewable at http://hosted.docman.cc/Mike431635

EXTRAS that will come with the car:
-3-spoke Canadian-market steering wheel (I will NOT sell the car with the airbag removed, so the new owner will have to install this on his/her own)
-N1 muffler with 2.5" inlet, direct replacement for the dual-tip one that is on there if the new owner does not like it.
-Stock wheels with tires (see note below)
-Engine bay & wheel well underpinning (it is currently removed because I like it that way, but I'll give it to the new owner)

IDEAS:
Instead of just selling the car, I'd like to sell the car AND some ideas.
-Turbocharging: you can get in touch with a guy who goes by Snafu on Celicatech.com (he's very helpful) and he will guide you through the process of turbocharging this car. In fact, he's writing up a FAQ right now including over 300 pics of the process and a breakdown of the cost.

-4AGE 20V swap: a silvertop or blacktop high-revving motor can be installed in this car for some real fun. Here is a site dedicated to helping people do that- http://www.geocities.com/celicasleeper/writeup.html

-3SGTE swap: this is done into GT's and GTS's all the time, but to swap an S-series engine into an ST you will need to change the mounts (come with the front clip) and crossmember (comes with the clip as well) along with some other things. You would also need a transmission and a manual trans conversion. Sean at Central Florida Performance could tell you all about how to do this. There is also a post on the Toyota forum right now about this.

The asking price is $5000 OBO. If the new owner does not want to take the Motegis, I will take $500 off the price and put on the stock wheels with nearly new tires. The car will NOT come with the Optima as this will be going on my new car. The subs, box, and amp will not be sold with the car either, but all the wiring and the head unit will remain. If the buyer wants the subs bad enough though, I'll work out a deal. Again, I believe this car is worth every penny I'm asking for it but don't take my word for it-- come and see it for yourself. I am also accepting offers as I need to get rid of this car soon.

Contact info:
-This post or PM
-Email: mblawson@gmail.com
-Phone: (813)601-1589, leave a message if I don't pick up.

EDIT:
I will also trade+cash for a clean Eclipse GST/GSX, clean Honda Prelude or '00+ Civic Si (would prefer a 98+)

can you explain why you are trying to sell it for 5k, when blue book dealer price is $2,850? Not trying to be a dick just wondering what is worth 5k on it.

Well for one, I'm not a dealer I'm a private seller, and the blue book on that is near $4k. I also have a lot of money in the motor rebuild and all my other mods. It's a reliable car. Having been around Celicas for the last few years, I would personally pay $5k for this one if I was looking to buy one right now.

It DOES say OBO though, so I am taking offers I would also trade+cash for a 98-99 Eclipse, '98+ Prelude, or '00+ Civic Si.

dealer price is higher than private seller price. You will not get very much money out of the rebuild assuming you can prove it was rebuilt. Good luck with the sale.
