1987 Corolla SR5 - > GT-S conversion
1987 Toyota Corolla 2dr SR-5 -> GT-S conversion (coupe)
127k on chasis
94k on motor
4 wheel disc
5spd
Silver/Grey ext
black int
15" matchin old skool meches (enkei 92's?)
old school luggage rack (so nice!)
Vehicle overall is in good shape. The body is in pretty good shape, with dull paint on the roof, hood, and trunk. Paint on the sides is in better shape. No peeling just dull. There are two dents on the passenger side, very easy to have popped out (no creases, etc) about the size of an orange each. There is the usual rust on the sunroof, but does not leak.
Both A/C and power steering are intact, but I have not hooked the belt up to test them since I bought it. We tapped the a/c purge real quick to see if it had coolant, and we got a real cold shot out of the system. A belt may or may not get the A/C working...but I can not tell you if it will. My intentions were to never have A/C on the vehicle, and I have not touched one part of it. Same with PS.
The interior is in good shape overall, with the exception being wear on the drivers seat lumbar. Carpet is good, passenger, rear seats, door panels all good. Dash is not cracked and is shiny and in good shape. The cluster is from the GT-S donor car and has the actual mileage the motor has on it (94k).
The GT-S motor runs great, no smoke, no noises. TVIS works like a champ. The tranny is also good, and the clutch has lots of life left. Alternator is also new (have receipt...Napa). New battery. The radiator has been replaced with a newer one (older one had rust in it) and the car runs on electric fans. Even in the hottest of weather stuck in traffic there are no heat issues with the car. It has a cheapy Ractive mushroom filter and a ricer muffler on it (came with the car).
The car is rolling on a matching set of nice old skool mesh wheels. Black centers with silver lip. New tires all around. Toyo Proxes FZ4 in the fronts and Motorchamps on the back. All tires are only 3 months old (have receipt). Also the rear struts have been upgraded to KYB gas struts. Vehicle has 4 wheel disc. Has LSD rear end (PLEASE READ ABOUT LSD BELOW).
problems:
1. 2 dents mentioned above on the passenger side. each dent is about the size of an orange and is above each wheel. IMHO I think a dent doctor could pop them out no problem.
2. rust on the sunroof (all corollas do it). Easy to fix from what i know...roof unbolts with 4 bolts and put a better one on (or get old one fixed).
3. When I bought the car I checked for it to have LSD. The car had the rear discs, and the LSD sticker on the rear pumpkin. Now I havent played much with the car, nor have I taken the diff or rear end apart, but I'm honestly not sure how well the LSD is working. We did a powerbrake with the car to test it, and we only got one tire mark. As far as I know it has LSD, but it may not be functioning 100%. Bought the car this way, I know nothing more unfortunately. Does NOT affect driveability.
This car is not perfect, but very far from rough. Engine is reliable and I have put several miles on it since i bought it (ex. trip to Ft Myers) with no problems. I bought this car for a backup vehicle and now I no longer need it. I want $1300 for it. I could say "$1500" and take $1300 but I dont like dealing games. Anyone is welcome to come inspect the car or drive it (im down in Palmetto currently).
Its a good car for running errands, also has lots of potential for Auto-x or drift. Also might not be bad for fixing up for a nice old skool ride. PM or call with questions. My name is Rob.

to specify this is a full GT-S conversion. GT-S rear end, GT-S motor, GT-S cluster. So yes it does have a 4age, AE86 motor. The motor and tranny came from an 85 Corolla GT-S with some rust issues. The odometer, as far as I know, is correct and the motor/tranny is at 94k.
More pics Friday....srry busy day today. Thanks!
