Don't waste your money on a cap, it's your factory electrical system that needs to be upgraded. I'd start with an Optima battery and upgrading your factory wiring (battery to alternator & grounds) to ATLEAST 4 guage. From there you'll want to consider upgrading your actual alternator to a high output unit.

You gotta pay to play dude. And if you don't have the cash right away, wait until you do. It's like buying a 100w amp for a 500w sub because you couldn't afford the 500w amp. You end up with a half-assed system playing no where near it's full potential...and you still need the bigger amp, when you could have simply waited until you had the money to do it right the first time.

I guess the whole "you get what you pay for" thing can only be learned with age and experience.

all a cap does is act like a buffer for when the unusual drops hit.

So when you add that in your problem you get..... absolutely nothing, your battery will drain only like .5 milliseconds slower. =\ (since you want a lousy 1 farad)

you're going to want to check how much load the alternator is taking and then upgrade that accordingly. dont skimp out on stuff, it bites you in the ass later.

yeah, a cap just helps keep the huge voltage drops from going straight to the alt. and putting huge loads on it all the sudden. it wont help the battery from draining at all
