Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance "Autoists" to Retrace Historic 1909 Tampa to Jacksonville Endurance Run RouteCelebrating the 110th anniversary of the first running of "The Great Endurance Run", classic pre-1910 automobiles will run from Tampa to Kissimmee to Downtown Jacksonville and then on to be displayed at the MotorXpo at the Amelia Island Cars & Coffee at the Concours, presented by Heacock Classic Auto Insurance on March 9, 2019 as part of Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance Week.
All are invited to participate in the Tour, but we are limiting the display cars for Amelia to 1925 and older. It will be a Pay-as-you-go Tour, so it will be as affordable as you wish!Email Info@GasparillaConcours.com or Call 813-714-1019​​While the first race was held to promote road building in the Sunshine State, our version has two different goals. First, to raise awareness of the inaugural Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance, to be held at Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Second, both the "Great Endurance Run" and the Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance will benefit the work of the Shriners Hospital in Tampa. Although the event is certainly about fun and classic automobiles, the real purpose is to help the Shriners Hospital with the great work they do. This is a total volunteer effort. No one is making any money on it, all the proceeds benefit the Shriners and their young patients.The original event was sponsored by the Tampa Daily Times, the Tampa Automobile Club and Coca Cola.The Participants of The Gasparilla Great Endurance Run 1909-2019will be asked to display their cars in Curtis Hixon Parkon Friday, April 12, 2019, during the Gasparilla Concours d'Elegance "Cars in the Park" Cocktail Party and FUNraising Charity Auction.
