  Yes, I know it has been some time since the ground shaking opening event however the Ace is well underway. The team was been working diligently on all the necessary details that will make this a great rock n' roll, motor-inspired, neighborhood restaurant and bar.
  
  I spent the day going over the event calendar details. Every night of the week there will be a motor-themed event and every weekend will be filled with car shows, bike events, music and food festivals plus so much more.
  
  Now is the time for car, bike and truck clubs to consider Ace Cafe for their monthly meetings as the calendar is being developed. Ace can offer dedicated show parking, specialty group menus and a large private dining area. Since weekends will be in high demand, don't miss the opportunity to host a weekend event at the Ace. Car, truck and bike shows plus motorcycle rally stops are all welcome at the Ace.

We are changing our meetings back to the second Thursday of every month. The Saturday meets just did not work out for us. The meeting place may change each time, but we will be meeting at local restaurants for some dinner and discussions.
This month we are going to meet at the Cracker Barrel at 4680 Lenoir Ave., Jacksonville, FL 32216 (the one off 95 and JTB), hope to see you there!

The Tampa Knights Rod and Custom Car Club was established in 1983. The club is open to anyone who actually owns or has a love of classic cars, hot rods, customs, muscle cars and even race cars.



Our meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at TGI Fridays, 2501 E. Fowler Avenue in Tampa. It's just a hop, skip, and a jump West of the intersection of E. Fowler Avenue and Bruce B Downs. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. but many members come earlier to enjoy dinner and fellowship.

Formed years ago, Tampa Racing.com was founded on the principles of encouraging restoration, repair or modification of special interest vehicles. Over 102,000 members strong, Tampa Racing has no national affiliation, but you will likely find its members among any number of automotive organizations including the National Street Rod Association, Mustang Club of America, Goodguys, Florida Mopar Association, Corvette Club of America, to name a few. As with the vehicles there are varying activities that the members undertake ranging from weekly cruise nights and car meets, to cruises through the countryside, cookout get-togethers, Christmas parties, open track days, organized races, beach concerts and frequent car shows. The shows are perhaps the most popular venue for many of the members who engage in showing their cars at almost every opportunity. Tampa Racing also co-sponsors and/or supports select charity car shows, community events. This is a way of giving back to the local communities.

When you join Tampa Racing you will always be a member of the family whether at a cruise night, car meet or on the highway. And remember life is good friends, a clean ride, and the open road in front of you.

Tin Tops take Lime Rock Park Historic Festival

Tin Tops return to the Lime Rock Park Historic Festival, drawing a grid of pre-1970 sporting sedans for a second year of spirited competition. Volvo, Datsun, Lotus Cortina, Ford Cortina, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Morris Mini and MG will be among the marques taking to the track in pursuit of Historic Festival Chairman Murray Smith's "Tin Top Trophy."
The field will be especially tough this year with the entry of racing veteran "speedy" David Porter, who Smith predicts will be a "real threat in the tin top race." Porter will challenge the pack in his recently-acquired 1965 Lotus Cortina Mk1, which he debuted at Summit Point in May. "I have always driven open-top, purpose-built race cars since I started competing in 1981, and began to fancy a shot at a production-based racer with a roof," explains Porter. "Lotus Cortinas are iconic, having clinched victory with many famous drivers, including Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart."
Lime Rock Park is a favorite course for Porter, who has captured top three placements in past Historic Festival outings in his Lotus 69 Formula Ford and March 79B. In addition, he has garnered 10 racing championships since 1981, including a UK national Formula Ford Championship in 1987 and back-to-back Historic Indy Lights Championships in 2011 and 2012. Porter also won the Classic 12 Hour at Sebring in 2016.
Porter's Cortina was a road car until 2011, when London classic car dealer Howard Wise converted it to a FIA Appendix K. It was a consistent frontrunner in the hands of Steve Soper and John Young at both the Goodwood Revival and the Members' Meeting. The car has a highly-tuned Lotus Twin Cam engine producing 183 hp and 140 lbs of torque, and it revs to 8500.

Ralph is well known to many of your members, and was one of three Founding Members of the Nature Coast English Car Club. There will be a Celebration of Ralph Decker's life on Sunday August 13[SUP]th[/SUP] at Brewer Memorial Home, 1190 S. Broad Street, Brooksville, at 2:00 PM. There will be a short ecumenical service at 3 at the same location. Please let your membership know, as I know a lot of them have known Ralph for a long time. We are looking to fill the lot with LBC's, so everyone that can should bring their cars.
Bringing a British car is not a requirement to attend.




Next Sunday, August 13 the Tampa Bay British Car Club Burger Quest will be at at The Wild Rover Pub & Brewery at 13921 Lynmar Blvd, Tampa, FL 33626. Starts at 1:00 PM. Parking on site or next door. Look for cars. This restaurant was on Diner, Drive-in and Dives TV show and features in house brewed beer.
