Nice find, they can be lots of fun. There are a lot of BMW guys in Tampa but they really don't hang as a group anymore. There use to be a site strickly for Tampa BMWs but for now just check out Bimmer forums or Bimmer Vibe

tobibeck80 07-06-2007 09:25 PM

i would be carefull with the FI if the engine is made out of aluminum!
I am not sure yet, have to ask my bro.

I would dig it with my row6, but as I mentioned.....aluminum.....need to swap it first to M50 but I dont have the money.
besides its fucking retarted to do something like that in Germany, results in problems only.

spoonfed 07-27-2007 08:14 PM

damn this forum is slow haha

beebo10 08-02-2007 04:06 PM

suspension, r comps, and go to an autocross. you'll have alot more fun than any straight line action, and you'll be using your bimmer for what it was meant to do, turn!

Nice E36. I'm not in tampa anymore (moved to Jax) but i did notice that baybimmers went down. If you wanna make some descent power out of that M44 go with the downing atlanta supercharger kit. It's around 1500-2k and makes like 210hp iirc.

Another option is to swap in a M52 and convert to OBD1 with M3 cams, euro maf, injectors, tune, etc. Or just go S50/S52. Either setup is alot of fun :)

Gentle reminder #3

Tim/stealth gti,
Please honor your obligation and return my engine hoist chains. Pm me an address and and a time you will be there and I will pick them up. You said 2 weeks ago that you were getting a new phone, and have not yet sent me the number.

If you claim you work every day, you can take them to your work and I can pick them up there. pm me the address.

If you don't work on a certain day, return them to my place, please.
They were not delivered as of 11 Aug, and you have had them since
28 July...about 2 weeks. Thanks.

I did not give you the chain to keep for your very own.

Sunday 29 July, when you picked up your silver 93 Prelude, you did not return my engine hoist chain at that time.
You said you dropped your cell phone, and I would not be able to reach you until you got another phone.........

I know you and Anthony want to maintain good relations with people on TR, since we
all help each other, so would you please return the chain to my place?

Thanks.-Bob

It's a 93' it's an M42 4 Cylinder engine. ;)

Op, do cooling system check, then brake overhaul. Then Suspension.

Speed is the last thing to worry about, especially on a 15yr old E36. You will not get it it going fast by just slapping on a SC/Turbo. and DASC has been discontinued so expect to pay 2k+ for any kit.

yep, notorious cooling systems for having problems. I had to replace jsut about every part of mine. but if you want to make it go fast, hold out for an s52/5speed swap. or any of the 6 cyl's on boost
