first oil change: oil drain plug doesn't come off
But anyway, to the point of warming th bike up before removing the bolts. That is correct, warm metals tend to have less resistance. Thats why when you have a froze spark plug you warm up your motor before removing it.
not only that, it's in the manual. some people are just to lazy to read.
well yeah, always drain WARM motor oil, it flows easier first of all. Second of all the bolts are easier to remove because heat does what to metal? Causes it to expand. Thus the reason heating the area around rusted and frozen bolt with a torch allows it to unthread easily.
try to tighten it a lil the loseen it with a bar on the end of the rachit

heating a rusty bolt with a torch till it glows and just starting your bike for a few mins isn't the same thing.
yes in theory it helps, but i've never seen it do shit. also the drain plug bolt has a rubberized part for sealing. if you've ever had to fight with a oil filter that you just put on hand tight a few months ago. you know that doing it when hot doesn't do anything but burn your hands.
in the end, this wasn't a rusty bolt... it was just put on tight and prob got stuck for the same reason oil filters do. he needed to make sure he had a good 6 point socket on it and just put some ass into it.
