Took a re-tread to the face today
 

I was riding down I4 doing around 80 when a dump truck that was in the right lane decides to get into the passing lane. Right as he is merging the left rear outer tire spit out its rubber re-tread sending about a foot long piece into my face shield. It broke the sheild and the clips that hold it onto both sides of the helmet and gave me a sore neck and a migrane. It damn near knocked me off the bike. No serious damage to the bike other than scratches in the paint.....

holy shit balls...your luck you didn't go down...Im sure that would of been the end of me..

+1 for wearing gear. You'd prob be dead w/o a helmet!!!

You should have better reaction time that that if you are gonna ride a bike. If it were me I would of ducked and judo chopped it into 2 pieces then rode around the front of the truck and mooned him.

+1 and ya my ass would of been off... there was some tire in the road one day and i went to go kick it and that shit was thick and hurt the hell outta my foot.. i def would of been flying off... gj on staying on.

fuck yeah, that episode of mythbusters where they take that dummy's head off with a piece of tire.... had I not been wearing a helmet It would have smashed my face in.

i was just thinkin of that when I read his post! i see it almost everyday where riders (both sports & crusiers) don't wear a helmet.

seriously....glad ur ok and stayed on the bike....i sucessfully dodged a 25' aluminum ladder or SR 54 one day....about shite myself....

did it fug up ur bike?

Damn... Glad ur ok. Hopefully you got the tag from the truck.... Make em pay for your helmet.

Didn't get a tag and no one stopped. I didn't drop the bike or go down... by some miracle.
