Default Shifter pedal

Anyone ever had this problem?

So I was riding my bike last week, filled the tank up, no problems, get back out on the road. I try shifting into 2nd, and cant find the shifter, try again, still cant find it, thinking im crazy i look down, and i see it hanging from my transmission....

So I was stuck in first gear, pulled off the road and parked in front of a parked school bus (about 6:30 am), used the headlights, put it back, thought i had it (as it shifted while the bike was sitting there), go back on the road, same thing, pull into another gas station, look at it, and see that the threads on the left peg bracket that hold the shifter in place are completely stripped out.

I end up riding the rest of the way home in 1st gear, luckily it was less then a mile, and I was going the opposite direction of the AM rush hour

Sounds like the nut that kept your shifter arm on vibrated loose and you kept using it which stripped it. Unless you check all of your nuts and bolts before take off like you should. If that's the case then it may be because of high milage just taking effect on your parts. Once you shift so many thousand times parts will start to strip themselves. However, that would take a LOT of shifting.

Is this stock or aftermarket rear sets? I have never heard of a stock set doing this but I have seen aftermarket rear sets strip out because they are pieces of shit.

The exact same thing happened to my bf on his SV. We left the house and no sooner than we pulled out of the subdivison the shifter just let go. So he limped it back to the house in 1st gear and got his tools out and fixed it. Been fine ever since. Weird.
