first how many of you ridders listen to music inside your helmet? Second is this legal and where can i get a headset for my helmet.

I have been considering rocking out my Ipod but i also am questioning if it is Legal.

 

i used too but i just found it increadiblly hard to keep it under mach 1 listening to korn and all the other go fast music in my mp3 player......but i only had it in 1 ear.... so i could still hear traffic and other crap.

 

Im 99% sure its illegal. Just like it is to have headphones in a car. But who am i to listen to with no bike let alone a helmet.

 

its illegal but everything u do on the bike everyday is illegal, so might as well do it because cops doesn't care, hes more concern about why hes pull u over in the first place (which probaly speeding) anyways i always wear an ear piece in one ear for long distance touring and a wireless radar LED in the helment.

 

What kind of wireless radar detector are you using, and how do you have it hooked up if you don't mind my asking......that seems really interesting......

 

it's illegal like CBER said. if i had two good ears, i'd put one earpiece in and leave the other out to listen for traffic, but i'm deaf in my right ear. i wouldn't ride the bike totally deaf.

 

this one dude i rode with on wed night had speakers mounted inside his helmet. he could still hear me talking to him when we were at lights. someone told me as long as its not in or directly against your ear its legal. plus what the fuck is a cop going to do? take your helmet and inspect it? lol

 

I think the wiring going from your jacket - or were ever else you are keeping your tunes to your helmet would be the telling factor....I have a hard time putting my glasses on my head when I'm wearing my helmet - I can't imagine the paint it would be for me to have headphones/earbuds pressed into my ears......

 

it was easy for me i wore my mp3 on my right wrist where there was a zipper so i could see the display and ran the wires under my ti max jacket in to one ear i had the little ear buds my icon helmet had plenty of room, and go to walgreens, cys or whet ever and look for little wax balls you put that over the ear bud so it stays put and doesnt fall out and it blocks out sound from out side your ear so you can hear the little ear thingy loud and clear, and i wore sunglasses under my helmet no problem....just make sure there is enought slack in the wire to you helmet so when you turn you head side to side you dont pop out your ear piece.

it also work with my cell phone i had a little jabra with the mic on my cheek and a speaker in the ear....you can hear crystal clear up to 100mph
