Sum bitch...

As I was eating at Mcdonald's in Holiday at 4PM today, I look out the window to see a Green 2000ish Land Rover w/ tag number "R69 2ZJ" backing into my spot only to ram into the tail end of my bike, causing it to fall over, causing extensive damage (still driveable though). He saw me run out and he instantly took off. I was only 5 ft away from his car when there was an opening in traffic and he got away from me. I got his tag, came back in, wrote it down. Got all the witnesses names and numbers. Called the police, they came out within the hour. Basically told me I'm SOL cause it happened on private property and that all he could do was give me what he called a "blue form" for me to fill out and send into the state. He refused to look up his tag number so I could get his information.

Tomorrow I'm going to take it to the dealership and have them quote me on how much it will cost to fix everything. I've taken pictures of all the damage. I don't have insurance (and don't give me shit about it, that's the last thing I want to hear from anyone right now) so I guess I'm going to have to sue him. Someone told me if I can't sue him, to sue Mcdonald's. Can anyone help me out here? Anyone know of a lawyer that can handle this? Is anyone here able to find out his information with the tag number? You can call about any lawyer to handle this. It should be easy to recover. Dont wait, call someone.

 

I'm not. Tomorrow I'm gonna call everywhere and go everywhere in an attempt to get his info from his tag number. I was told to go to the FHP and they'll probably help me out with that info. And tomorrow I will call a lawyer. Am I going about this all wrong?

 

Next time ask the cop if someone ran over his baby if he would still say the same thing? That privae property BS is just that, BS. They can and do write tickets and work accidents, and report them, on private property. You need to get hold of his super and find out what the deal is. That guy fled the scene of an accident which is definately against the law. Whatever, paperwork you recieved from this completely inept(sp?) LEO should be brought with you to the police station for your meeting with a detective.
Don't take this one in the balls kid cause you are completley in the right from the info you provided. I do believe the cop didn't not quite show up for work that day.

i always hate hearing about the private property shit. seems they can fuck with you while you break any law when your on some private property but if someone crashes your car or bike your out of luck. seem there should be a law about crashing and running no matter where it happens.

but it is about a fucked up useless system we live under.

Damn Mat Pat, you have had some bad luck with that Gixxer, I think its time for you to get another bike LOL. I am always afraid to park my bike in a parking lot, that's why I usually shoot for the sidewalk (which I know is illegal, but fuck its better than some YUPPIE running into your bike). When you find that guy, maybe we should ALL pay him a little visit
