Anyone who likes working on Bikes?

I would like to go down 1 tooth and have never worked on bikes. Anyone with experience wanna mess with it with me?

sl2racer 06-07-2005 08:05 AM

i would but ruskin is too far away. do you have a book? it really isn't hard to do.

2wdBlazer 06-07-2005 09:37 AM

I can drive to whoever wants to help. No books here.

on the zx6? i have havent worked on any of the newer bike other than my 2fiddy.. but it cant be that much different from the older zx6s, kz/z1, and 250s. its not hard..

are u going down 1 in the rear or the front?..

2wdBlazer 06-07-2005 11:12 AM

Going down 1 in the front. Isn't that like going up 3 in the rear?

seven 06-07-2005 11:21 AM

yes it is, but if you're gonna go through the hassle of putting the front on you might as well do a complete 520 conversion, and be done with it. BTW i can do it, but it'll cost ya beer.

I'll do it for free, but it's $10 in gas to orlando :D Really easy to do with the right tools.

KNow any good sites to buy or reputable brands? I wanna stay cheap of course.

Would you recomend -1 front or +3 in rear or who cares?

Thanks.

i personally prefer to just go up in the back. but in the grand scheme of things it makes no difference. Chain= RK, Sprockets= Renthal or sprocket specialist (not vortex, they really suck ass). But you basically get what you pay for, as with everything else.

If your chain and rear sprocket is good, just put a -1 sprocket up front for $20 and be done with it. Its the most cost effective way. Unless youre a serious racer looking for every possible advantage, dont waste your $ on a 520 conversion unless your setup is worn out. IMO
