who thinks they know cbr's? HELP!!!

i have a jetted carb. on my cbr 600 f2 ('91), and it usually runs fine. i drive it every day to and from work (tampa to clearwater and back), but today the traffic was seriously bad. when i was on my way home and finally made it over the bridge and was coming into tampa, after sitting in traffic for about 20 minutes it died on me. just quit. i thought it might be low on gas, so i turned on my reserve, gunned the shit out of the motor, and hauled ass inbetween cars to a gas station, just to find out i was still good on gas (i knew i hadnt killed a tank in 1.5 days.). i know its charging good, too. it was heated up about half-way, and the cooling fan was definately on. it has never done this before, and now im scared to ride it in traffic. someone please help me i love this fucking bike and this is the only problem ive ever had with it.

do u have exhaust? k&n? any other mods? if u just jetted it and u did too big of a jet it could be running to richa nd while at idle just drowned it self, ecspecially after using up the gas than going to a stop like u did going over the bridge. if u don't have anything done to the bike, go back to the stock jettting. that's what the bike will run best with.

vapor lock. too much heat, old fuel lines causing fuel in the lines to turn from a liquid to a gas. When in gas form it will not move in the lines.

thanks - i got the bike with a jetted carb. on it and ive heard that you need advanced ignition and a certain exhaust but i dont have too much free cash. it idles around 14-1500 - is that too rich?

i have owned F2 F3 - they doesn't like to stay in one place so u have to get moving or resting. (and they're both isn't stock either) and idling at 1500-1400 is what i use.
