Opinions on Buell
So my friend got a Buell xb9r, the 984cc version. Lil background info its a harley v-twin in a body/frame designed by Buell, the gas tank is really an airbox, the frame is the gas tank, and the swingarm holds the oil, its also belt driven, 5spd tranny, and relines at like 7800RPM. Its a pretty nifty design but i'm questioning the power. It has a short ass wheel base, only 80 Hp (we dyno'ed it) but a huge amount of torque. I dunno it gets up and goes and will take most bikes in 1st but after that it does nothing, and it seems the that much torque could be hurting it in the cornerning, even though the short wheel base is kick ass for turns. discuss.

It's a very inovative bike and a lot of nice technology. Very fun to ride around town and through the twisties, but it has no Balls. Even though it's a 984cc bike, a R6 can smoke it easy.

the thing is it's a v-twin they are not gonna produce HP like the inline 4cyl so a smaller 4cyl will walk it. it is a cool bike for around town and handles nicley but if your friend wants speed he got the wrong bike. those things are also great for stunting and doing stupid shit like that.

I've heard the 1200cc new buell is fast (in comparison to the years before) but still can't compare to the sportbikes.. it's a streetfighter.. not a sportbike.. it's like comparing cruisers to choppers.. I think they are cool bikes but not my style.. They got mad torque but not much hp in comparison.. Anyways.. I think they are cool just not my personal taste..

they seem nice.. my friend that might be going to the lakeland thing with me has a buell.. people looked at his before they looked at the busa... I was like... :o You gotta be shitting meee!!! ...

Buell is there for the die-hard "All American" Harley guy who wants a sport bike, but just won't give in an buy a Japanese sport bike if you ask me. In addition to the gross lack of power, I hear those Buells don't handle worth a damn compared to Japanese bikes. My Magna can outhandle a Buell blast.
