(pictured celebrating his win at Richmond in 1993 with father Bobby) had a memorable career that was cut short 25 years ago today, when he lost his life in a helicopter crash at Talladega Superspeedway.This week in NASCAR Nation has been filled with recollections of Allison’s life and career, and musings on what could have been for the man who was only 32 at the time of his death and driving for one of the best teams in the series, Robert Yates Racing. Allison won 19 races at NASCAR’s highest level, including the 1992 Daytona 500.
