Martinsville Speedway and Watkins Glen International have joined Pocono Raceway in announcing that they will hold Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series qualifying and the race on the same day.

In its 70th anniversary year, Martinsville's spring race weekend (March 31-April 2) will remain a three-day weekend, but the October weekend will be held on Oct. 27-28. The speedway will hold a fan event on Friday, Oct. 27, followed by Cup practice on Saturday.

Watkins Glen, which hosts NASCAR Aug. 4-6, will feature Xfinity Series practices, the K&N Pro Series East 100 at The Glen and an on-track hauler parade on Friday, Aug. 4; two Cup practices and Xfinity Series qualifying and race on Saturday; and Cup qualifying two and a half hours prior to the race on Sunday, Aug. 6.

Pocono previously announced a two-day schedule, with qualifying set three hours before the race.
"NASCAR continues to work closely with tracks to create unique opportunities to interact with the stars of the sport," said Jim Cassidy, senior Vice President, Racing Operations for NASCAR. "A number of our track partners have certainly embraced the concept, and fans attending those NASCAR race weekends will get to experience the enhanced model."
