$2011 GRM Challenge - Hello Kitty Hits the Paint Booth.
The XR$Ti was the original plan for $2011, but the TR7 idea ended up winning out.
The problem with the XR was that this competition is getting really tough (Read "Super Fast"). My math showed that a top 5 at the autocross, and a low 12 second 1/4 mile run would have put it in 7th place... best case scenario. Last year there 2 cars in the 10s at the drags.
But since the XR is nearly done, it will make a future appearance.
The V-8 craddle went into the TR7 yesterday. The first V-8 part is on the car.

Sounds like the XR will need some serious help to be super competitive, which ain't easy on a super small budget. Might be possible if you gut it, V8 it, run serious spring rates, and make room for huge tires. XR might not make the ultimate GRM challenge weapon, but it can be a heckuva swiss army knife. And I'd love to see the GRM challenge include a rallycross segment... imagine what a total game changer that would be.

Tod got the TR8 running yesterday. Woo Hoo!
She sounds pretty mean. Probably the Meanest sounding Landrover you'll ever hear.
I pieced together the exhaust bits, thank you very much.
Whats that saying.... The difficult we do immediately. The impossible takes a little longer.
That's the Tattoo Tod should get.
Older guys that have seen the car seem to really dig it under the hood.
Younger guys ask what a carburetor is.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Hi Chi,
I have a photo of a couple of 50 year old guys standing in front of the motor in the car, but not on this computer
I'll work on getting some photos this weekend. I know a car post is pointless without photos.
