Goodyear tire compound question (AutoX use)
I have been running Goodyear R160 compound tires for autox., but recently came accross a great deal on some r175 compound tires. Has anyone used both? And if so did you notice a significant difference in grip? I only AutoX, so getting heat in quickly is important to me, and I have heard that the R175's do heat up about as quick as the R160's... and wear better. But if it is at the price of a large amount of 'sticky', I will have to pass.
Thanks for any input. Scott |
These are not DOT r compounds, does that affect classing?

We modified guys don't need no stinkin DOT tires.
Scott, I got a great deal on a full set of Hankook radial slicks for $255. Discontinued FF2000 tires. They retailed for over $800 a set. Sadly, the fronts are too narrow for your car. Frisby Performance Tire & Sierra Tire I also got a set of rain tires for $25 a tire. They still have some rains, check them out. Frisby Performance Tire & Sierra Tire |
Those are some great deals!! I need to pick up another set of rims before getting some rains though.
