Default 2010 Southeast Divisional

For anyone interested the Southeast Divisional autocross is 15-16 May in Moultrie, Ga. This is just over the border on Rt 75 and then about 25 miles west. Concrete surface and a good group of guys who have good courses. Overnight camping available and the local hotels are reasonable ( about $45), I went last year and it was a great event.

Any extra info on the course? Parking lot or runway for example, course map, etc?

From the event annoucement on SEDIV Solo2 Divisional Series: This Championship Event will take place on over 7 acres of smooth concrete just begging to be autocrossed on!! You can expect a 48 to 55 second course with speeds that are comparable to what we saw at Nationals!

Spence Field's an old WWII-era training base. Still used as an airfield, and judging by the charts I looked at, similar in configuration to Buckingham AAF down near Ft Myers -- I'm guessing the course will be on some part of the old ramp and perhaps one of the abandoned runways...plenty of concrete.

I wouldn't expect to see a course map beforehand...not a common practice at large events.

I'm tempted...just have to find out if I'm supposed to be somewhere else that weekend. Of course, it would be the same month as the CFR event at Daytona....

I find out in May if I am leaving on a work assignment or not. I hope I find out early enough because even I'm not all that competitive in my class - although that Comp class is going to push me to be so - I really enjoy meeting people from all the different regions.

Thanks to both for the info and the link.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
