The Ventus R-S3 Z222 also features a unique “flame” design which is molded into the tread that will be aesthetically pleasing to consumers looking to show off their vehicle’s “hot” new shoe

If the tire performs well, to me, that's all that matters. I agree that those little flames are a stupid feature, but is it really an issue with a lot of people? If they're better than Azenis and the cost is comparable, then I say, "flame on!!".

Lots of good tires coming out - these - The Dunlops star spec which have set the bar - Bridgestone RE-11, Nitto's NT05, Kuhmo's new tire - woo woo - lots of good choices in the 200 and under UTOG

Finally got my response
"Jeffrey… Thanks for your e-mail. I’ve passed along your comments to our product manager and product planning team. The new Ventus RS3 will in fact provide more pure grip than the Ventus RS2. As for the flames, of course they are pure cosmetic treatment and I can understand that you among others may not like the look. Cosmetics are a very important and subjective element of the tire design process. Consumers over time will be the ultimate judge. That said, please keep in mind that the “flames” are vey shallow and will be gone relatively quickly so if you can look past the flames and let the extra grip drive your decision, I think you’d like this new tire. The first seven sizes should be available within the next 30 days.
