Here here

My default is competitiveness be damned.

When you die, who will give a shit that you placed 1st in the 2008 Southern Sprint? Nobody. The experience of the event and memories captured in photos and video are the motivation!

I dropped an email to Per... I guess I should give him a call, but getting him in the office is a crapshoot... but No I have not don't too much whoring out.. yet. but I'm warming up.

Hi, I was reading over the classing rules and I thought it would be nice to have an adjusting factor for cars over 25 years old.
A bonus for the old guys who actually build their cars, rather than driving something new. Just a thought.
Not that I'm ready to pull out the TR-8 or DMC-12.
( Or am I? Where did I put those Avanti Keys? Bricklin Keys? )

I expect Chi Town may want an adjusting factor for cars older than 15 years old. And for Red cars too.

I think the rules are pretty fair for whatever car you might come up with. TR8? 2-valve engine, there's a 0.8 factor for you right there. The DeLorean's V6 probably fits the same category.

Of course, if you're BUILDING a car for this event (like anyone's got time to do that!), you should start with a 4-seat car, with something like an overbuilt 2.6 liter 2-valve-per-cylinder diesel engine with a monster turbo, with proper gearing and suspension and stripped to well under 2000 pounds. Imagine 200 hp and 600 ft lbs of torque in a lightweight car in a class populated with mostly low HP econo cars (and Miatas).

Oh, just throw some tires on something and come play, already!

I can see that I forgot to put that "no whining" rule in there...

Don't forget to add it to treekiller's thread over on NASIOC too. The whining is in full swing already.

I can't find pricing that cheap anywhere on the ERS site. Confused.

This news entry (below) needs a lot more information. I realize you guys are busting your asses to work on this a bit every day and all... but it's time-sensitive according to your wording:

ERS Driver School

* What exactly is it?
* What date? 8/2/2008?
* What is the end result of attending? "Solo" sign off?
* How much? No info on pricing.
