my first autocross race - 1995
I was going through some old videos and thought I'd share. I think this is my first or second autox event, I can't remember. But a friend and I shot this video back in 1995. I was racing my 1990 Escort GT (don't laugh) I actually did pretty good that day, I think I finished in the top 10 of about 35 cars, but probably mostly because of the rain. Those SASCC events had big, long, fast courses. They were fun.

The Escort GT was a pretty good autox car, actually.

Now I am thinking back to my first autox. It was April 2000. I used a friend's Miata for a novice school/autox. Last year I married my friend and we sold her Miata.

This is turning into a " my first autocross" thread.
2005 at Z-Hills in an '85 XR4Ti.
3 years later and I'm still calling Z-Hills home.
I liked those Escort GTs (shoot me.)
Glad Muddy's "Friend" was a girl. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

I sold it to my brother in 1998. his ex-wife has it now. Its still running up in South Dakota. Last I heard its been hit by snow plows 3 times! Been buried in snow banks, the hood is missing and the roof is all smashed in. The glass is cracked and its beat to hell. He said he saw it when he was visiting her, but it still is running like a champ with a bazillion miles on it now! haha, poor little car. To think I took such good care of it for the 7 years I had it. Oh well.

Smart guy...that Rabbit was my third car, bought halfway through college after destroying a rust-lightened Datsun 1200 in a TSD rally.

I think I was 04 in my mustang. Sadly only one person ever took pics of it, and I cant find them anymore. I know the link was posted on here long ago, but I cant find it now :\
