If you've been following this one as closely as me... (Don't worry no-one has) the American "Cousin" of top gear will be called "Top Gear" Bravo since there was rumors of it being a bunch of shitty names... The Airfield is set (Too bad it's in CA) and filming has begun... Faust and Corolla are confirmed so far... I wonder if there will be a stig?.?.? and who is the third presenter?

I think it's going to take some time to "warm up" I see Corolla feeling around to see what he can get away with and what he can't... but I keep hearing an emphasis on the challanges, I hope that's not the case.

we have to remember the original show had 20 years of being a just common show before it was re-released in it's current form. only the past 13 seasons has it been in it's current form.

I think it's all going to depend on the script. if it turns into some abonomation of Junkyard Wars and C+D TV it'll flop. and they have to review the cars honestly, and no-one knows how that will happen on comercial TV..

Honestly I have BBC America and enjoy Jeremy, Hammond and James May way too much to give anything of an "American" version a chance.

It will be SO easy for them to screw this up. I really hope they get it right and the show is awesome but I give them a 10% chance of doing so. Definitely worth keeping an eye open for news. If they do it right it will be great to finally have a decent car TV show in this country.

I think we need to accept the fact it's going to be diffrent, and more diffrent > More same. Corolla is a funny cat. and he digs his machinery Faust.. well I could take him or leave him. but maybe with a non-crappy script he won't suck so much. here is my take on it. it'll be the best show we have here in the states and will excel above the original in a few areas.

The Car reviews will be softer then a down pillow. since it is commerical TV. but if I know corolla (Remember he does play death on family guy) he has the ability to sneak in comments below the radar that only car guys/gals will pick up on. and Remember why Jeremy Got fired from Original top gear because he refused to say ANYTHING about a car he really dispised. Fifth gear never bashes a car and their show is decent. just not quite as good. so I bet the NBC version will fall smack dab between those two shows, and to me that is a win.

About damn time! I had always wanted to work on an American verison of Top Gear, now maybe I'll have that chance one day. Will it air on NBC?
