In a perfect world, I would love to shell out the $8500 to rent out the short Green Park course @ Sebring. Desoto has the figure 8 track inside the oval and with a few cones you can come up with a little 3/4 mile or so r-oval.
I left the guy a message this morning and so far, no word.

One more thing...nothing wrong with auto-x's but to get some good testing in an endurance racer, you have to do more than 45 second runs...

Chin @ Sebring coming up mid June. I'd be down for that. Maybe drive the Lemon for an hour, and my own car for a couple hours.

$500 for the track.. so it be $250 per car? Or is it $500 per car?

And will they allow more than one car on the track at a time?

PBOC at Homestead in about a week and a half. Can we be ready for that?

I've not been to that track... but it's got to be better than an oval.

Kris and I will be in Cali that weekend returning Sun PM. So we couldnt make it.

Also how far is the homestead.. Remeber we need to Tow a car with a truck that uses $5 a gal diesel.

I do think a real track day would be ideal.
But I also feel If we could rent an oveal really cheap , its a Plus. Also have another 1 or 2 cars out there to rally race with and pass and work on being aware of other cars being very close/ a aliitle competition would be alot of fun.

I'm up for anything. I really think we need to shake the car down some more, get some seat time in it, practice our driver changes and fueling procedures, etc. I'll chip in for a day on an oval. Somebody set it up!

I called back down there again and I'm sure it will be another couple of weeks before he calls back. The $500 was for a single car from 9-5....it was like pulling teeth to get info from them. Not sure what more than one car is.
We can use some of the figure 8 configuration with the oval to create a little ro-val.

i checked the CMP website, they have garage spaces for $100 for sat and sun and she said we could park in our spot after 5 on friday. they have spaces left, 16 x 25? i think and you can still choose from facing east or facing west. I got one 2 spaces from the end track side, facing east. she also said we will be using the west course, so start studying.
