Default Battery Tie Down

I dont have any ties for my battery in the engine bay, Whats a good fix that would be approved for inspection. I was thinking of those straps they sell at like auto zone but sounds kinda shoddy, any recomendations?

do you have a battery tray? if so get the screw on tie downs they are cheap.. or if you want to get fancy get a battery box and relocate it to your trunk.

Anything that holds the battery firmly and won't come loose will make it through inspection -- I've seen rubber tie downs (not elastic bungee cords) used well. You could try a ratcheting tie-down strap. Jeff's suggestion is the most foolproof -- if it's metal and fastened down well, it's not going to be a problem!

Sounds like it should work. We don't want the battery or its container to be a loose missile in the car, and we don't want the battery to tip and spill.

A friend of mine passed tech at a drift event with zip-ties holding his battery loosely in place. They're a little bit stricter at auto-x .

In my old car I welded up a new tray and bolt-down setup at 3 am the night before my first event. It had one rather small screw and 7 zip-ties holding it to my crossmember but it looked sturdy enough. The battery couldn't move even when it hadn't been held in place by anything, so adding the appearance of a solid mount was good enough.

I am personally a pep boys or autozone fan. I know both of these places will have them in stock. it's a pretty standard part. worst case a boating store will have tons of them.
