I want to do it in my Triumph. Anybody can do One Lap in a modern, reliable, fast automobile!

this is where we differ Greatly, doing that would ba an adventure, Me I don't need adventure as much as I need to get revenge.

Me on the other hand am going to build a killer car weither it be a reliable turbocharged engine in the V or a turbo ecotec powered chevette or fiero. or perhaps a Formula car chassis with an econo body rivited to it. (Don't laugh it's legal)

If I had more of the big three (time, money and motivation), I'd be all over building something to win Vintage American. To win overall would take way more money than I'll ever have.

Jeff's right, though. It's not just he and I who see things slightly differently. One Lap is a lot of different things to a lot of different people. For some it's an opportunity to spread the word about their favorite charity and maybe raise some money while having fun. For some it's just a great time with some friends. For some it's the challenge of trying for that overall win, or class win. For even more, it's about finishing higher than some of their friends, even if they're not in the same class. But, for everyone involved, it's about survival!

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
