Goodyear Eagle featuring ResponsEdge
what do you guys think of it?
and are certain autocross tires now reinforced? Goodyear Tire - News Release Index Goodyear Tires |
No goodyear tire is really good for autox, with perhaps the exception of their non-dot racing slicks. The F1 GSD3 has a pretty good reputation as a street tire. I don't know about the construction of other popular autox tires.

I like the fact of the stiffer sidewall but if the commercial tire doesn't offer good traction then I would stick with Azeni.
Next season I am moving up to hard compounds. |

yeah, i know they have stiffer sidewalls, what i'm asking about is the design, i know its a gimmick for an econo tire, but do you think it could be something new in tire design?
or has it been going on forever and its just now coming to the consumer market |

"Among performance-oriented consumers, carbon fiber is recognized as a substance that raises the product to a higher status," said Bob Toth, Goodyear’s marketing manager for auto tires.
"The integration of carbon fiber in the new Eagle featuring ResponsEdge Technology tire not only helps stiffen the sidewall, but its use resonates with knowledgeable, performance-savvy consumers." Let me translate: "Carbon fiber is the shiznit, yo! You're whip won't be slammin' without carbon fiber on your dubs." |
Whats funny is there are so many varients of carbon fibre. Its like golf clubs, yea my driver is 460cc, titanium liquid metal with funny little weights that I can move around to tailor to my swing. $700 later and I can hit the ball 3 yards longer than my $60 Walmart special. Its a gimmick, hell the guy even lists in his ad that the name carbon fibre is consumer oriented.
