But yeah, don't worry about mods right now. Just get your ass out there and have fun!

Another great thing to do is on your first few times out, come up to people and say "Hey, this is my first time doing this, could I ride along with you?" or, asking people to drive your car for you.
Riding along with peopel is not only fun, it gives you a great way to get a feel for the course and how to drive it.

I'm not sure anyone in here is really concerned with rep points. Come on out to an autocross, let 'em know you're new, they'll find someone for you to ride with.

If you ever see me, feel free to come up and ask for a ride. I (and I'm sure a lot of other people) wouldn't mind giving you one.
It's easy to spot me, I'll be the only Scion xA with gold wheels you'll probably see at one of these events, haha.

as previously stated, i wouldnt bother modding just yet. I went out to my first autox last month and had a lot of fun. I'll shamelessly admit I am a noob when it comes to high performance driving -- I recognize that while I may be a safe 'street' driver, I'm intelligent enough to realize that without actual racing experience and time on a track I'm not going to be very good
