What size tires?
I just ordered some buddy club p1 racing wheels in 15x6.5 with 40mm offset. I want to know if I can run a 205/40/15 on it or will I be stuck with the 195/50/15?
Thanks Scott |
I wouldnt go such a low profile, on such a small wheel.

Agreed.....not only will it look stupid, but it'll fuck with your speedo pretty bad. 225/50/15 is your best bet, unless you are ricer slammed.....then you'll probably rub the fenders.

Um... guys, who makes a 205/40-15???
What size you should get depends on what car you're putting it on. 205/50's are a very common size, lots of choices. 195/50 has almost as many choices. |
195s on a 6.5inch rim would be hella small. 205 minimum.

The car is a 99 civic hatch. So a 205/50/15 will fit?
Thanks Scott |
It is lowered about 2.25 inches around. Do you think the 205/50's would rub?
Thanks |

The width of a 205 shouldn't be a problem, I wouldn't even think about it. The diameter of the tire is what's going to affect things like overall gear ratio and speedometer error if you get it wrong. The gearing effect can work in your favor (smaller diameter) or against you (larger diameter). Either way you want to be fairly close to stock diameter to keep the speedo reasonably accurate. There are lots of tire size calculators out there that can help you determine what will fit and what won't. Here's one: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html |
they will fit, but they might rub if you're turning hard. depends how good the suspension components you have are.
