Loren...

IF your instructors are driving cars, are they subject to having another instructor with them? If not, couldn't eddie drive as an instructor? (being as there is an instructor in the drivers seat... )

From my experience, stock pads normally will fade after a few hot laps/ sessions if lucky. I had to repalce mine in my first event. Brakes are worth their weight in gold on the track.

I am very interested...

Would someone who is well versed in the type of rollbar confirm this one for the Spyder and tell me if that is adequate?

AutoPower Roll bar. Click on the pics to enlarge.

BTW, I captured the 2003 Florida State Championship in CSP, so I guess that would count toward qualifying for this...

I appreciate the advice on the above!!!

For OUR events (no guarantee on others, especially SCCA which has very stringent roll bar specs) I would pass it. It is a true roll bar with rear bracing. It's purpose is rollover protection, not style. That's all the insurance company is looking for.

To know for sure for SCCA req's, you would have to be in your car with the rollbar mounted. There are requirements regarding how far above your head the bar must be as well as how far forward of the bar you can be. ( I believe the bar must clear the top of your helmet by 2 or 4 inches and that your head cannot be more than 6 inches forward of it. Check the rulebook to verify that though)

Probably fine for event like this but doubtful for SCCA. No crossbar

You thought I ignored this, didn't you?

Finally checked on this with the insurance company today. They have no problem with one of our qualified instructors going solo.

SO... Eddie, send me your qualifications and I'll see if we can make you an instructor. If I remember correctly, you've got quite a bit of experience.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go do a final (I hope) edit on the event rules and procedures...
