Default Is this a decent setup?

Alright guys,

My boss wants a system, end of story. I took it to Stereorama and this is what they quoted.

XM Satellite System

I-pod Cable

Dash Kit and Harness

Alpine CDA-9884

JL Stealth Box w/ w3v3 12" woofer

1-Alpine 2way "6x9"

Alpine SPX-177A 6.5 2way

1-Alpine MRP-M450 sub

I looked up all of the prices on these items on the internet.

Between the following websites I came up with 1611.37 for the parts.

CarJamz.com, Inc., International Mobile Audio Wholesaler
Crutchfield: Car Audio, Home Theater, Speakers, LCD TV, Plasma TV
Car Toys - A Better Way To Go - The leading specialty retailer of Mobile Electronics and Wireless products
WoofersEtc.com - The Online Car Audio Super Store, The largest selection at the lowest prices!

Stereorama's price was 1984.85 after labor and tax.

What do you guys think, is that a decent deal? Does anyone else know of anyone that does good work?

if those are the parts you want, thats hte price you pay. I'm pretty sure if you went with some different components your price would be much lower than 2grand.

The price I got on the internet is 169.99. Does anyone know of a similar system or a better one for around the same price or cheaper? I do not have the first idea when it comes to audio.

that 2 grand also comes with a guarantee that it will sound good and work well with the combined components.

If you don't have any idea about stereo components and you have no interest in making it a serious hobby, just pay the money.

I picked a slightly altered system and came up with 1220 including the IPOD cable and the stealthbox. Thats a pretty big difference but then you have to throw a couple hundred in for installation. There weren't any direct connect XM tuners for the alpine HU and I wouldn't use an external one as its a little clunky and less streamlined. Ask him if hes OK with Sirius.
