Well, my truck currently has four 8ohm single voice coil Atomic(dont laugh if you never heard of em) 10" subs in a blow through. On one pair of subs I have a RF Punch 500S, on the other pair I have an old RF 360aII(was supposed to be a 500S there too, but it was DOA so I just used what I had). I have a 500X running in 4 channel mode on Polk 3 way 5x7s, one pair in the front, one in the rear.
My Golf has 3 JL 8W7s, running off an old PPI A600.2.
My truck seems lacking, the Golf has enough power to burn the coils.
So I just bought another A600.2 today. The idea is to pull the 600.2 out of the Golf, and throw the 360aII in there, and put both 600.2s in the truck bridged mono on the subs.
Im also going to pull the 500X out of the truck and replace it with an old A404 I have.
So basically, I paid a few hundred bux to do this:
Go from a 500S and 360aII to a pair of PPI A600.2s.
Also switching out the 500X for a PPI A404.
Think it will sound much better, if any?

It's hard to say if it will sound better, being I've never heard of Atomic subs and don't know what kind of power or box size they require. I know the 8w7's are pretty badass though and it would take a helluva sub to compete with it, I'll bet that Golf rocks.

Well, I guess I am just hoping that 1200W of class A/B old school power bumps harder than the 360W of class A/B and 500W of class D power I got now....
The Atomic subs are an old school 1000W sub. I bought my first set in 1996 after a test in CA&E where they placed #1 in a 'high end sub test' in all categories. They were up against such brands as Polk, JBL, MB Quart(I think), Boston Acoustics and a few others. Some of those brands have went to shit in the past years, but back then those brands all made awesome high end subs.
I had them replaced in 2003.
