Recommend good 6x8s for me!
I'm looking to replace my rear 6X8s and I want something with good clarity.. but the main concern is a solid frequency response range. In the past, the best in this respect (as I recall) were Infinity and Kenwood.
What is a good 3 way speaker that will hit fairly well? I want a little bass but do not want a sub. My stockers refuse to produce any bass these days so it won't take much to make me happy honestly.
Thanks

A lot of the time we do 5.25 components in the 6x8 spot. The nice thing is that Kicker 5.25 components come with an adapter plate to drop right in. Dont expect any bass out of em though, or a 6x8 really. But theres way too much out there for me to just throw out random brands without more of an idea of what you want, ie your budget, what will be powering them, what else do you currently have, etc.
Go to some local shops and listen to what you like.

I'm not expecting top of the line SQ or anything, i just want good sound and a tad more bass than my stock system. Right now I have to turn the bass down if the volume is up.. quite annoying.

Good luck getting much "bass" out of a set of full ranges. Especially if you don't plan on amping them. Full range speakers and component sets are primarily for reproducing high and mid range frequencies. Trying to use a set of full range speakers as a substitute for subs is a dead end street. Kenwood makes a low to mid end speaker at best and Infinity focuses more on the higher ranges (meaning not so great mid range response). Maybe look into Polk MOMOs. Whatever you get, you're definetly going to want to amp them for any chance of producing substantial mid bass.
