alright guys need your help on selecting wires for my system..

2 12" JBL'S and a 750watt Pioneer amp.....they have been sitting in my garage for a month since i waz spending $$ on other stuff but now i really want to hook them up...i need to know what wires to get and how much they will cost me? and if anyone wants to help with the install , let me know, i have a few friends already but well see

hmm a wireing kit would be a start. You need a power wire a ground wire remote wire rca's and some speaker wire. The power wire goes from the + on the bat to the amp and the ground goes to the frame of the car to the amp. The remote wire goes from your HU to the amp. You also need some rca cables that r gonna go from the HU to the amp. Then your gonna need some speaker wire from the amp to the subs. I read somewhere you could use welding cable from www.weldingsupply.com as power and ground wire. Never used it but maybe someone here has ?

 

Go to best buy or sound advice and get a wiring kit.

 

You could probably get away with an 8 gauge wiring kit but if you ever plan on getting a different/bigger/better amp, definitely get 4 gauge. Oh, and if you dont wanna pay out the ass for it all, definitely dont go to Best Buy, Sound Advice, or Circuit City. Go to a local stereo shop, like AVE Audio in Clearwater for me, where they have complete Stinger 8 gauge kits for $40. $40 at CC will get you the Tsunami 8 gauge kit without RCA's.

Assuming you have an aftermarket head unit, you need the RCA's but if its factory, spend the extra $20 and get a high-low converter to convert + and - speaker wire to RCA cables.

Pick up a 4 gauge wiring kit on ebay, should be able to find one for under $35. Go to BB or CC and you'll probably pay ATLEAST twice that.

 

Actually, that amp is probably 750w MAX, not rms. So you would probably be fine with a 8 gauge kit.

 

Wal mart has 4 guage wiring kits for 25$ thats what i got

 

Yeah, while I was checkin out the Road Gear the other nite I also noticed 4 gauge distro blocks for $10. Not bad.

 

since wire is wire you could use the walmart kits.. theyre some brand..schoshe or something... should do just fine fo ryou
