Default two alternators?

i remember seeing something about a kit being available... what would the pros/cons be of a dual alternator system? stock alt and lightweight batt for the car, upgraded alternator and optima batt for the system. or would it just be easier/better to upgrade to a single high amp alternator and optima battery?

well, dual alternators menas taking up more space in the engine bay..

and.. I dont see why youd need an upgraded high amp alt for the system alt.. seeing as it will still put out x amps of power, but without the drain from the electrical system.

I would do it like this. Batter, then High amp alt, and if it sitll isnt providing enough juice then look into a seocnd alternator

a higher output alt would be a good way to go, from how i have had it explained the alt supplies the power to the batt regardless so the amp gets most of the power from the alt, getting a 2nd battery would just place more load on your alt to charge two batteries instead of one, getting a stronger batt is good but on the long run a stronger alt is nicer....

contact dominick@tds.com, he makes h.o. alts for anycar and can usually make them to fit in like the stock alt
