Default suggestions..............

Alright I have a 96 GSR and I really haven't cared about sound all that much until now (All speakers are blown). I guess since my head unit is 60x4 (Alpine CDA-7863) and the max on the stock speakers is 35 they were bound to give out sometime Anyways, right now I wanna spend about $300-400max and put a little life back into my music. I'm just worried about speakers right now and plan to get subs further on down the road. I don't know a whole lot about whats good out there so can you guys hook me up w/ some suggestions on what I can do for under $400? I REALLY appreciate it................

Lance

What model numbers would be the best choice? And I'm assuming I need an amp also....? I have to do the backs also because they are all blown. Thanks

any of those speakers that he listed will require an external amp. Sure, you COULD run them off the head unit, but they will not be living up to anywhere near their potential. From my personal experience, i'd say mb quarts (anything better than discus, so reference or better) or focal components. and get an amp that will put out from 50-75 watts RMS (operative word here being RMS)

PS: post 1000

Alright heres what I'm looking at getting now....

MBQuart PSD 216 for the front (found them for only $189 through IkeSound.com which seems to be cheap as hell)

possibly MBQuart DKD 116 6.5' fro the rear (only $80 on Ikesound.com) they don't have any reference coaxles listed on their site. Are these speakers alright or should i just get some MB Quart RKC 116's 6.5's I found from another site for $134.99?

Also what do i need to look for when looking for an amp and what are some suggestions as far as amps go?

Thanks again..........
