It was called Modified Sports Production and it was a class of drag racing with about a 10 year run. Created in the late 1950s to make a place for engine swapped sports cars, it morphed into the greatest collection of odd, wonderful, insanely fast, and bizarre looking cars in the sport. Tiny sports cars with giant blown engines, one-off bodies, hand made chassis, and more.

This was a dream class for the creative hot rodder and it drew fresh ideas, home fabrication, and the incredible mash up of exotic looks with sledghammer power. In this video you'll learn the history of the class, see some of its most famous cars, and plot it's rise, peak, and eventual dissolution as the sport evolved around it.
