Second step is to ignore posts like that and go to D-series.org and dig around there.

you can build a nasty z6 turbo set up.. but i would go B.. i mean D's are reliable good engines but after having a D for a while ull be bored..

D series motors can produce some good power under boost. The down fall is the reliability factor of any turbo vehicle other than a low boost stock setup.

Best thing is to take the block and have it hot tanked and check for any other damage, If it is good and just needs to be honed, get a good set of rods and pistons.

Get yourself ARP bolts and studs, have a machine shop or a local builder go through the cylinder head and replace the valve seals and other items as needed. Or just upgrade valves/springs/retainers (recommended for boost).

Make sure to evaluate your fuel delivery setup and verify if it will be enough for the amount of boost you want.

Get it tuned CORRECTLY and you should be good.

I have seen some nice D's producing 250+ and being daily driven.

The main thing is do it right from the start and you will be happy, Trust me I speak from personal experience.

I have a few D16 builds here. Best #'s were 402whp 286ft-lbs, built/street tuned by me, then hit the dyno to see results. B-series can make the same, just 15-20 ft-lbs for a ton more money isn't worth it to me. All the fan-boys like b-series, and hate on the D. I like both, just wish honda blocks came with iron sleeves. Sleeving a block is $$$.

D Series is LAME

You can find a LS for the same price, boost it with a ebay kit and make 300whp UNLIKE you can with a SOHC. Stock B series and race gas make 400
