Default Civic Wont Start - Please Help!

Last night I went to start my car to go to a friends house and noticed as I turned the key to start the motor there was a split second of weak hesitation however the motor turned over and the car drove normal. However leaving to come home I get in my car and turn the key, the engine or something made a loud constant ticking sound as I tried to start it. The car did not try and turn over at all, simply made the loud ticking sound...

This is a 1999 Honda Civic EX (bone stock) and have never heard or experience this before. I don't know if its the starter because the noise is coming from the engine but who knows - it could be the starter or just weak battery but I have never heard a dead / weak battery make that noise before.

My lights and radio all still worked but I could think that perhaps the battery just did not have enough power to turn the motor.

Anyone know what is wrong with my car?

If its making a noise that sounds like click click click.. etc, your battery is dead.. check also to make sure your alternator is working so it is charging the battery while driving. If its not working properly, the battery won't charge, causing it to die

i have had this happen plenty times in a few of my cars it could be a dying battery or it could be a starter i would take the battery off and take it to autozone to get it checked and if its still not fixed then i would check the starter but if it is the battery and it happens aigan after you replace it then you should take your alternator off anf then takeit to autozone for them to check it for you man

make sure you check the alternator to see if its working properly.. you don't want to get the battery fixed and then have it not charge again
