i have a friend w/ the same car as mine an 02 wrx. he went and bought an ebay bov and installed it, and slowly his boost was laging, and now he has no boost. he said he can still hear the turbo spool but no pull. he doesn't have a boost gauge, only other mod is a catback. any ideas

oh yeah and he installed his stock one and reset the ecu, nothing.

how many miles are on these cars...maybe the turbo is crapped out. otherwise how is he reseting the ecu. did he make sure to tap out the brake lights to fully drain the power. otherwise get him a boost gauge to see what is really going on. then you might want to build a leak tester as seen in the other thread.

well i met up w/ him today to take a look at it, he's just an idiot, he has full boost. he said it just wasn't putting him back in his seat like it use to. so forget the question stated above

ebay bov is not the smartest thing to do. when you get a performance car like a wrx, you put the right products on. you get what you pay for.

Thats not always the case, Im sure all the APS Header ppl who paid 1000+ for that sack of crap would have been much better off getting the Jett Hott coated Gruppe-S header for 1/2 the price. There are always exceptings the key is to get on places like Nasioc and IWSTI and read reviews on what works for ppl and what did not.
