the bpt valve is located behind the valve cover. its round and there is a fitting on the top of it that 3 rubber lines run into it, one from the intake manifold, one from the exhaust, the other im not sure.

what does bpt stand for, and what does it do.

I think they're commonly referred to as "UFOs". They're some sort of AIV or EGR actuator. I had a complete setup from a 95 before I threw that crap in the trash.

Back Pressure Transducer. Why do you need one BTW? Mine just failed & the car bogs between idle & 3k, yours too?

the ECU is picking up that its one of the 2 problems that i currently have on my KA. Im just trying to get my car fixed.
Its been running rich for a few weeks now, and its been using more fuel than usual, spent 1/4 of a tank just making a trip to downtown tampa and back from PinellasPark.
The other code that the ECU is picking up is the fuel injectors. Someone said that they might be opened at full time. I want to fix the inexpensive things first to see that it might solve both problems.
EGR-BPT Valve. it looks something like this. if some of you claimed to removed it, what did you do to the hoes? car running ok?
