Default Credit Question

Posted this in here since I'd rather not have it "out in the open":

I received my credit card bill today. Says I had a $35 late fee for my last payment. I've never paid anything late in my life. I just screwed up this time and sent the payment 1-2 days before it was due.

How damaging is this to my credit rating? Will this bad mark ever go away?

I'm kind of financially/emotionally stressed this month, particularly since I am uber broke at the moment...so this is really eating away at me right now. I appreciate the info.

Have you tried calling them, sometimes you can get them erased, I cannot imagine it will make that much of a a difference, they look for trends, not perfection.

Give them a call. As long as you aren't late on a regular basis they will waive the late fee. It won't go on your credit report either. Like Tony said, they look for a trend. For the most part you can get a late fee waived ever six months as long as you haven't been late within a 6 month period.

U shouldn't have anything to worry about Alan....... done that on occasion myself. Usually only going to be reporting to the credit bureaus if you have 30/60 or 90 day lates.
