Can some of the "professional" people shed some light for me?
Okay so @ my restaraunt, there is an obvious "A" team and "B" team... no, not one tema that was fasley improsned after veitnam and runs aorund in a black van.. theres first string and second string groups.. when its a full A team day, everyhitng goes smoothly, all the sidework gets done, no drama aroundthe restaraunt with tables, everyhitng is stocked etc etc... b team days are chaos, food is slow, tabes are sat out of order food is brought tot he wrong tables, servers greet thw wrong tables etc etc... Im on the A team, and the managements wants me to go into becoming a manager
the question here is: Is it like this @ every job? or just the lower jobs like mine? I woudl assume that in the "professional" busniess like enviroment you have to be A team material or you wont last... please tell me I dont have to deal witht his bullshit the rest of my life...

It really depends. My last job, I was the man. Customers would only talk to me or some would never come in and unless I was there. I never made up shit or lied to sell shit ro changed things around. But my DM didnt like me for some reason and I was forever destined to be a part time making $7 an hour after over 3 years
We only have about 4-5 people working full-time at my work. We work as a team, with everyone hopefully pulling his/her own weight. Everyonce in a while someone screws up and I end up working a few 13 hour days to make up for the fuck-up.
So yeah, no matter what your profession you always have one fuck-up or an entire group of fuck-ups. Just don't be the fuck-up and you'll be fine.

i was like that at my restaurant, too. its definately more prevalent in restaurant and jobs where you have alot of workers who arent college educated and are just stuck in dead end land. you still have your hard workers who love the job and/or want to try and move up by being great workers and learning as they go.
They made me Kitchen Manager and said how can we get the B team closest to the A team? Boom, a big lecture to the B team to stop being potheaded losers and a few key firings/hirings and my store ran a hell of a lot smoother. I only left cuz i had to move and wasnt getting much pay out of what all i did.

Maybe "B" team is cheaper.. Use "A" team during prime time when you are willing to pay, and "B" team during off hours when you arent willing to pay.

If your not getting a substantial raise and the power to fire and hire people on your team....dont take it.
But yes there are always A and B teams that will have different levels of quality and effeciency. Its best to mix up the personel on each team from time to time all the while weeding out the dead weight.
But the best advice I can give is to make sure all new hires are on a 90 day probation period. Then watch them like a hawk. Correct them and teach them during this period. And if they show signs of being a terd...show em the door ASAP. Its a much harder issue to deal with once they have been there a while.

Pretty much any job or work environment is going to have its slackers and or fuck ups. Smaller places usually have less because everyone has to be able to pull their wieght to get things done while in a larger group there are other people to fix what goes wrong...basically you will be suck with it your entire life, have fun.
